Formed around 2007 and morphed from the Boss Cats, a trio playing hard edged Texas Blues, into the Mighty Boss cats.

They are fronted by guitarist and vocalist Richard Townend who, in a thirty year career, has played for artists as diverse as playwright Alan Ayckbourn, crooner Tony Christie and even Ronnie Corbett. He has been nominated no less than 3 times for his songs in the British Blues Awards for original song in 2012 & 13. Has also had songs released by Blues Magazines on their cover mounts and has a fan base covering the 5 continents. He is favorably compared to JJ Cale, Chris Rea and Dire Straits.
